Kisses

I could eat them up......... :)

I forgot...

I really thought I had posted this slide show last month....I must be getting old! It's from June. It was the same day Carson went firefly hunting. We were playing with play dough....lots of fun! Sorry I forgot about it....cute shots of the kids!

"No, David!"

Carson continues to love to read. AS I have said before, he reads everything he can. Last night he read the book, "No, David!" The "David" books are his favorite. He needed help with the words enough and instead. You can see his little brain figuring out the words in the video. Sorry, I wish you could hear his sweet voice. As a teacher, I have always enjoyed seeing children learn to read, but seeing my own child learn to read has been an amazing gift. I am blessed in so many ways!

Pretty in pink

Those of you who know me well, know that until a few years ago I really did not have a "favorite" anything. Yes, it is sad. I could have cared less about a favorite: color, food, animal, etc. After being really tired of filling out n/a on questionnaires I figured I should at least pick a favorite color. So, I found "pink" a couple of years ago. Not to mention I have a girl that is as prissy as they come. Wouldn't you know it...I would have a prissy daughter. Anyway, in honor of my favorite color, Lauren got a pedicure yesterday. OK, it really consisted of the first foot being really easy until she realized I was putting something on her toe that was changing it. Then, I had to wrestle with her to get the other foot. So Carson would not feel left out we painted one of his toes too! Of course we did take it off before bed.

Anything to stay inside...

I think it is a million degrees here. I hate the heat. Since it is so hot, I decided to stay in today and entertain the kids with a homemade art project. Today we made salt dough. The kids had a great time. Carson could have probably played with it all day. Lauren started getting frustrated when it began to dry on her hands. Her favorite part was not how it tasted. She loved throwing it on the floor and rubbing it in her hair. That's our yucky baby. Of course yucky meant in the most loving way. Yes, they are still in their pj's...isn't summer GRAND? Carson made a snowman. I think he secretly hates the heat too! It was quite a mess, but loads of fun.

Super Brother to the rescue

My husband loves to fish. This is a picture of from last fall in his Clackacraft. We took the boat small lake. We were so excited to be out as a family. Lauren tolerated it pretty well...and Carson loved fishing. WELL...that was then!!! One day this spring we decided it would be great to go to the lake and spend the day. Little did we know, Miss Wiggle had other plans. We tired to put her life jacket on her before going and she pitched a royal fit. Yes, tiny princess has a temper that can match even Carson. Needless to say we did not make it to the lake that day. The last picture shows "Super brother to the rescue". Lauren will do anything she sees Carson do. We have taken baby steps. First we just kept her life jacket in the toy area so she would see it! Finally, we are at the point where she will put hers on if Carson wears his. Aren't big brothers great! Thank you Super Carse...you're our hero!

AGAIN!

Yep, she's at it again! Trying to sneak a sip of my coffee. Lauren loves drinking out of straws.

Let them eat...DIRT???

Lets face it, kids will normally eat anything once. Well, I guess that includes dirt! OK, I have to admit... Lauren has taken a special liking to my violets. After the 100th time of having dirt tossed all over the floor and seeing this (see below pic) I realized that some things are easier if you just move them out of reach than trying to explain why eating dirt is just plain yucky! Yep, she really will eat everything!

My little guy...

Carson started reading repetitive sight word books just before his 4th birthday. He is doing really well. He spends so much of his time deciphering words or spelling things to us. "Hey, M-o-m-m-y" or "I l-o-v-e y-o-u"...It is amazing to see him learning so quickly & to absolutely love learning. Today he came to me and said, "Mommy, I read this, 'No more raindrops'."
He makes me proud every day...

Summer fun...

Just a little slide show to entertain you....of course of my two little ones...I think Daddy might even pop up in a couple of pics!

My angels..

One of my favorite things to do is take pictures of my children. I absolutly love this one. My new favorite. I have a few others I will post in a slide show soon. I am working on some pictures of Lauren like the ones I had taken of Carson at the same age. Black and white is my favorite. You can't see the contrast of their eyes as well in this one, but in color it is really amazing.

Just like Mommy...

I caught Lauren with my drink from Starbucks the other day...Wow, she is just like me!!! Anyone who knows us, knows we love Starbucks! She cried when I took it away from her. No caffeine for you little one!

Girls & hairbows

Nana made this hair bow holder for Lauren. Isn't it adorable! I had seen them online for a small fortune...Lauren just loves it. We can't wait to fill it up with all of her bows....Having a girl is definitely different from having a boy! Who knew hair bows needed a place of their own.
Thank you, Nana!
