Chef Carson

Carson loves to cook. He especially likes to bake. We have spent so much time in the kitchen cooking and baking that it is a wonders that he only weighs slightly over 30 pounds. He must have a hollow leg! Here is a quick slide show of the cupcakes we made last week. He wanted to write on them so I had to dye some of the frosting...we used a ziploc bag to "pipe" it on...doesn't he have the neatest handwriting ;) He insisted that we put our "canitials" on them...Um, "initials" Chef Carson!

Super Girl

Well, Lauren has her first ear infection. I am amazed by several things. 1. She has had NO fever 2. She has never cried or complained. 3. She made it almost 17 months without being on an antibiotic! She has had a runny nose for a few days...nothing major...pretty clear. Although I should have been tipped off by the fact that she has not wanted to eat much the last few days. My girl is an eater! BUT...this morning she woke up with a dried crust in her ear (awwww)...I knew immediately what it was...ruptured ear drum. Our wonderful Ped. confirmed it. How is that for making you feel like mom of the year! My itty baby is tough. Here is a picture of Super Girl (as her brother refers to her...we all have super hero names). She is blowing a kiss to a car driving by our house. So, we pray ear drops and "pink medicine" do the trick.

Fireflies

Do you remember catching "lightning bugs" as a child? Some people call them fireflies. I remember spending what seems like hours catching them with my sister Julie. We would get our parents to poke holes in the tops of metal lids so they could hopefully breathe. We filled the glass jars with grass and sticks. We would each have a jar and catch as many as we could. We did not care about the numerous mosquito bites we would get or the fact that the grass would cause us to itch. We ran barefoot through the yard hoping to catch the most. Last night, Carson had his first lightning bug hunt. We ran through the yard reliving our childhood fascination with flying bugs that light up the night sky. Carson perfected it to an art. He caught every single bug on his own with his net. He was even able to see them in the dark when we could not. Hmmm...maybe he really is Superman!

Rock Star & Little Mama

Our adventure today was to go to Target. Our typical Target trip consists of me wrestling Lauren into the cart the whole time and Carson reminding me every 5 seconds everything that is on our list. Our list today was fairly short. We had two items that were a "must". Get Carson a treat for an awesome week (amazing how well that works) and get Lauren her first baby doll. SUCCESS! I managed to only drop my keys three times in the store and we kept Lauren entertained with the new baby (oh, and yogurt melts). Luckily we did not lose Lauren's shoes once this trip. A frequent occurrence with Miss Wiggle. As we were checking out Carson so graciously pointed out, "Mommy we got a lot more than was on our list!" ;) Here is a clip from when we got home. Notice I have reverted to taking video on my digital camera. Ah-ha! Just no sound! Add your own commentary...it is funnier that way.

ELMO

I have got to get a video camera!!!! I wish I could post a video a Lauren saying her newest word! ELMO. Yesterday, Carson and I were playing with Lauren. We pointed to Elmo and said, "Elmo". Guess what?? Lauren repeated it... "Ehmow"! Carson and I were really shocked. We laughed and clapped for her. Lauren is really beginning to talk now. She ran to our door yesterday when I opened it and said, "Ow" (out). What a BIG girl she is becoming!

Vacation...

I love going to the beach, but I am always ready to come home. I get homesick easily! We had a blast...Lauren and Carson both loved every minute. Lauren spent her time running back and forth from the beach tent to the water. Carson spent most of his time looking for pirates thanks to Chris who told him historical pirate tales! Argh, Matey!
