Most of you may know about our visitors in our backyard. We have a regular wild kingdom out there. We have raised several rabbit families over the years. We also have blue birds that continue to come back year after year to our box to lay eggs. Last weekend we found a huge toad while Chris was mowing. We have also had some baby chipmunks...
Well, today this is what we found. I could not believe it! Carson was so excited and asked if "this" was now his home. I suppose it is. The funny thing is, we have neighbors on all sides of us in a good size neighborhood. We wanted to create an environment that would be natural and inviting to animals...guess we have that covered! Just as long as no snakes decide to visit I am pretty good with anything else.

NOT so fun start...
So, we had our 1st ER accident visit today. ..
I can't believe that we made it over 5 years!!! We took the kids to Century Park this morning. We had been there 15 minutes when Carson decided to cross the monkey bars (which are now outlawed in our family). He had crossed 5 of the "swinging" kind. On one of the last ones he slipped and fell about 5 feet onto his tummy. I picked him up. I just knew he would be missing a tooth or have a bloody nose. That I could deal with. He was holding his tummy and starting to cry. THEN, he went absolutly limp, eyes rolled back in his head & looked like he was having a seizure. No jerking, just very tense. YIKES!!! I laid him on the ground sent Chris to find the phone to call 911. Carson was alert by this point and a little freaked out b/c I would not let him get up. A very nice lady played with Lauren while we took care of Carson. The EMT's arrived very quickly. Although it would have been much faster if we had a "physical address". Apparently "Centry Park" was not as helpful. I think they need a humongous billboard with the address just in case of emergencies like this, so freaked out parents don't have to try and figure out where they are! Needless to say the 2 correct street names popped into my head and they "found" it in the computer. Thank you Jesus for that moment of guidance. :) He was assessed by paramedics who said he was ok enough for us to take him to the ER. Went to the ER, had a CT, etc. just to make sure his head was OK. Dr was unsure if he just passed out from getting the breath knocked out of him or if he had a seizure. CT was all clear and he doesn't even have a single scratch on him! Thank you again Lord for catching our baby when he fell. We knew that he was doing great when the Dr asked him his name and he spelled first/last for him & then proceeded to read his shirt to him! I am so thankful to the Dr who treated him today. He was very thorough...just the way I like it! Not to mention he answered all of my crazy questions as though they were all equally important! :)
I have only been as scared 3 other times as bad as this. All involved Carson. The day after he was born...had to have an Upper GI becasue he spit up bile. When he was 5 months old and had a CT to make sure the sutures in his head were not closing too quickly. Last, when he was 6 months old and decided he liked to hold his breath until passing out b/c he was angry (which we thought were seizures). Today brought back those memories of him holding his breath.
I just hope his little sister does NOT follow in his footsteps. My hair is getting way too grey!!!

Surgery today...
My MIL is having knee replacement surgery today. What a trooper! Carson thinks this is really cool. He told me the other day that when Nana gets her new knee smoke would shoot out of it when she ran b/c she will be so fast. I forgot to tell Nana that, but I think she would appreciate the fact that she now holds superhero status with Carson. Well, I think she always has been a superhero because she is such a great Nana. However, now that there is a possibility that smoke will (haha) be coming from her bionic knee, elevated her status just a tad. How am I going to explain when no smoke actually comes out?
Here is a picture of Nana and Chole (Carson & Lauren's cutie cousin).
